Prison Facility Alerts & Notices

See prison facility notices below for information that may impact your travel plans. Please be advised that unforeseen security problems may interfere with visiting, causing delayed, shortened, suspended or cancelled visits. This is unusual, but it does occasionally occur.

  • Effective March 15, 2023: Video Visitation using the JPay terminals will be deactivated. Any visits scheduled will be automatically cancelled. The new Securus Video Visitation will go-live on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Video Visitation will not be available between March 15-20, 2023. Friends and Family will need to access Securustech.net to create a visitation account before they can schedule visits. Friends and family will be able to start scheduling video visits on Monday, March 20, 2023.
  • Posted Wednesday, February 8, 2023: Visitation will be closed on Friday, March 24, 2023 due to mandatory visit-staff training. For more information, please read the news article.
  • View the current COVID-19 prison visit guidelines and prison facility visitation statuses. Prison facility visitation statuses are based upon community COVID-19 levels which can change at any time.
  • Effective March 21, 2023: Video Visitation using the JPAY Terminals will be deactivated. Any visits scheduled will be automatically cancelled. The new Securus Video Visitation will go-live on March 30, 2023. Video Visitation will be unavailable from March 21st – 29th.
  • Friends and Family will need to access securustech.net to create a visitation account before they can schedule visits. Friends and family will be able to start scheduling video visits on March 29, 2023.

  • Friday, March 17, 2023: All visitation and volunteer services have returned to normal.
  • Monday, March 13, 2023: Due to many unfortunate circumstances the Science Fair event that was scheduled for Sunday, March 19th, 2023 has been cancelled. Please see the LCC Events Calendar (pdf) for more information.

  • Effective Wednesday, March 1, 2023: Visitation at MCC-TRU will be closed on March 31, 2023 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
  • Effective Wednesday, March 1, 2023: Visitation at MCC-WSR will be closed on April 1, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
  • Effective Wednesday, March 1, 2023: Visitation at MCC-MSU will be closed on April 1, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
  • Effective Thursday, February 16, 2023: The consumption of food and beverages during all visiting and family friendly events is suspended until further notice.
  • Effective Tuesday, January 31, 2023: Masks are required for all visiting and family friendly events until further notice.

  • Saturday, March 18, 2023: Visitation will be closed due to the Significant Other Event.

  • Friday, November 11, 2022: Extended Family Visiting (EFV) has returned to normal operations.

  • Saturday, February 25, 2023: Visiting will be closed due to a family-friendly event. Visitation will resume for the evening visit session (4:15pm – 7:30pm).

  • Friday, October 28, 2022: The Bellingham Reentry Center is temporarily closed due to the termination of the contract. The Department is working on legislative funding to reopen under state operations. In the meantime, individuals are still being screened and redirected to the Seattle Area Reentry Centers.

Sign-up for Emergency & Incident Alerts

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is now able to send you emergency alerts, as well as non-emergency incident alerts, via text message, email, pager, and/or voice mail.

  • Emergency Alerts: Could include hazards that require action be taken such as an evacuation, prison lock down, prison escapees, or other severe events.
  • Non-Emergency Incident Alerts Could include significant transportation problems with prolonged impacts, or significant ongoing Corrections exercises or other activity.

This system will not be used for routine informational notices (see Prison Facility Alerts & Notices for this information). Alerts are provided free of charge, however, standard text messaging rates and other charges may apply.
