Rick was a software engineer for 25 years before being introduced to the justice system in the worst fashion. He was eventually incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit. The immersive experience provided a hard education in the justice system and incarceration. The carceral state does not treat its charges with compassion or dignity. Too many of its charges do not have support on the outside. The inception of Adopt An Inmate came from his experiences and many angels helped to take up the cause. He is forever grateful to those who saw the value in showing compassion and providing aid and comfort to the least valued in our society.

Rick now uses his past skills and experience to expand the reach of AI and give volunteers and staff the best tools to accomplish AI’s mission.
