Jacob (Justin) Gamet

Born and raised in Yakima, Washington. And here I reside today, a prisoner at the Washington State Reformatory in Monroe, Washington. I’m currently working on two self-help books: “Lovehappy” (a relationship handbook based on religious principles) and “The Scrabble Dojo: Defensive Strategies for Beating Any Opponent.” After drafting and submitting a 52-page appellate brief (on 3/4/18) on my own behalf because my prior three appellate attorneys were ineffective in overlooking a case law I could have won on in 2006, I hope to be released sometime this year. God willing. Jacob J. Gamet #883302 Monroe Correctional Complex - WSR PO Box 777 Monroe, WA 98272

“All Day” is Going Home!

“All Day” is Going Home!

Sunday, April 11, 2021 I just wanted to share some great news about one of the bills (SB 5164) that our state's (Washington) Congress passed and how it affected a man I know called "All Day," who happens to live directly above me. People call him All Day because he is...

My 19-Year Freedom Walk

My 19-Year Freedom Walk

Saturday, April 10, 2021 Today marks my one-year countdown to freedom! After 19 years, the world I left will be profoundly different. Sitting on my cell bunk, I imagine what freedom will look like and feel like in 365 days. I imagine its new flavor and texture, how it...

Nambi’s Pleasure and Pain

Nambi’s Pleasure and Pain

February 9, 2021 Today is special. It's my late brother Nambi's birthday. Nambi struggled with drug addiction since he was about 13 y/o, and he unfortunately lost that battle last year on 5/18/20. Nambi found pleasure in poetry, and I wanted to share with you his...

“Wintegrity”

“Wintegrity”

I recently read this July 2020 article written by David Waldstein about whether racial slur words should be officially banned from Scrabble tournament play, and while some black Scrabble players want the ban, others do not. (There are supposedly 225 offensive terms on...

Preparing for Quarantine

Note: Jacob and a number of other prisoners at WSRU in WA DOC were escorted to quarantine (we believe on 1/10/21) after testing inconclusive or positive for covid-19. We will not be able to hear from him until he has tested negative twice, and is out of quarantine....

New Year’s Eve Prison Party!

New Year’s Eve Prison Party!

At WSRU (my gated community), we get one day out of the year to turn up -- on New Year's Eve. Unlike the free world, though, our New Year's Eve venues are "party of one" (or two if you live on the 4th tier and have a cellie) from inside our cells. Still, our open cell...
